Strategic Finance Accountant and Business Partner - MP03 £47,420 - £54,717

You’ll provide high-quality advisory, analytical and reporting services that promote value for money – and the achievement of the council’s objectives. As an experienced, industry-qualified professional, you’ll lead the Strategic Finance and Business Partnering Team and take responsibility for several high-profile budgets. Ambitious and proactive, you’ll provide financial, policy and performance insights, and business intelligence, in support of service delivery, with a key focus on financial planning and reporting. This is a fascinating role with real influence that would particularly suit someone looking to gain experience as a Deputy S151 Officer.

Senior Finance Business Partner - MP02 £42,403 - £46,464

With your experience in financial business partnering and project accounting, you’ll be part of our customer-focused strategic business partner function. Working in close collaboration with team members and staff across the council, you’ll ensure that services are delivered through an advisory-led, business partnering model that enables us to achieve our goals within the agreed policies and governance. From supporting all aspects of the annual budget setting process and monitoring process for both capital and revenue, this role would suit someone who’s newly qualified and wants to take that next step, helping to shape business partnering across our future-focussed organisation.

Finance Business Partner - CIPFA Trainee MSO/MPO1 - £33,945 - £41,418

As an apprentice Finance Business Partner you will help to embed a business partnering ethos in service delivery. You will assist the team in delivery of financial advice, information and be able to communicative effectively. During your study you’ll have the opportunity to work across a variety of areas, including budget preparation and planning, financial accounting and budget monitoring. You’ll also act as the first point of contact for services in the budget preparation process. This is an exciting role for someone with a degree or AAT qualification, who has a genuine desire to develop a rewarding career working in finance and government. As a council we are committed to working with you to the achievement of your chartered accountant status with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance Accountants, and in doing so have put in place a comprehensive and supportive study package.

Financial Accountant MPO1- £38,223 - £41,418

With a robust financial strategy in place, to support our targets. Now, we’re looking for driven, motivated and forward thinking individuals, to join us in delivering and developing outstanding services.

You’ll support the Council’s financial accounting function, and ensure financial best practice in regards to accounting and budgeting. From maintaining the general ledger and co-ordinating the final accounts process, to ensuring our statutory reporting is efficient and effective, you’ll have plenty of influence. As a qualified CCAB or CIPFA accountant, you’ll provide accessible financial advice to customers, including briefings on policy and legislative changes that impact the Council. You’ll have up-to-date accounting knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Excel and a computerised general ledger and asset register. Importantly, you’ll be someone who can build effective working relationships, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and takes a solutions-focused approach to all you do.
